Just understand that a transwoman and a ciswoman are literally the same thing: woman,

This really bothers me because everybody treats this as a fact, when it's....not. It's an...opinion. It relies on how you interpret gender.

Personally I have no problem treating a trans person as the gender they would like to be treated as. To say that they are literally the same thing.....and just expecting everybody to agree with that....I just cant agree with.

To me, boys and girls...mean nothing so I don't understand transgender. When I grew up we rejected gender roles, and that was the progressive stance. Girls could love sports and cars. Boys could like pink and dolls and dresses, if they wanted. They shouldn't be constrained. To me, boys are males, girls are females, and at that point they don't have to fit into the box society has set for them.

Things like trans and non-binary confuse me because it seems to be saying boys are manly, and girls need to be feminine, and if you don't suit that, you're actually something else. An extremely feminine boy, to me is just that, a feminine male, and it shouldn't matter how they are.

I guess there is some merit in changing that. Perhaps instead we say that if you like cars and sports and stuff you are a boy, no matter what your genitalia, and if you like dolls and dresses, you are a girl. So you choose your role in society and purposely choose by the gender roles. That's....ok I guess. In some ways maybe thats easier for people? Since they don't have to worry about expectations.

But this is your opinion on gender, and not the world we currently live in, and not everybody agrees with that.

So I have no problem treating a trans woman with respect, but in terms of objective arguments, I don't agree that a trans woman is 'literally' a woman, because I dont feel like gender means anything, and to me its just...were you born with a penis? Ok youre a man, no matter how you act or feel, because being a man doesn't mean anything to me besides that you have a penis.
