I stopped watching around 2008 (long before they doubled down on Apu's character) but even back then, Lisa and Marge would end their episodes being taught a lesson or having been chastened, while most of the Bart or Homer plots included at least a small boon to them even if they were found out. EDIT: I read something a few years ago that catalogued the different plots based on which of the main five family members they centered on and broke down how infrequently Lisa and Marge got "happy" endings compared to Bart and Homer.
