It's not that they've had a change of heart, but rather that even CHinese people don't like the pandering, so it's not making money. It's the government thta makes them pander. Chinese people don't give a shit, they just want good movies. Unfortunately, it will not swing to just "Let's make good movies" but rather feed into the new anti Chinese American culture. The 2020s will belong to Trump era conservatives (in America at least), and Hollywood will pander to them.
