At some point, just letting everyone do everything they want without your concern just comes off the opposite of what you're trying to do. I know if it was a family member, I'd want to have an in-depth conversation about it to see if I could see any underlining effects they might be avoiding. I'd accept their choice at the end and treat them exactly the same, but I could still express worry. Then again, on that note, just let her family and those closer to her figure that stuff out.
