Ive always played cards, but have mostly stayed away from gambling, and have never gambled at a casino. My friends want to take me soon, so I did some research and read you are supposed to tip an exorbitant amount of people there.

I tip 20% or more where Im actually being served, and the service is exceptional. However, what exactly is a cashier doing to serve me? Their literal job is to break money and cash out winners. Same goes for a slot machine attendant, the article said to tip them 5% of your winning, for what exactly?

I definitely understand tipping anyone bringing me something or taking it away, and rewarding a dealer if I get hot at a table (the article said to always tip even when you lose, wtf), but the rules for casino tipping seem vague and extremely excessive. What are the actual expectations if I decide to go?
