So then the issue wasn't who you insulted, it's what insult you used.
Which is still fair to complain about because the whole "that insult should not be used at all" idea is fucking ridiculous. It's not a slur, it's literally just a very strong curse word. But framing it as that you're not allowed to insult a specific person (when that wasn't the issue) is pretty misleading.
I'm also going to guess though that the mods made zero effort to make it clear that that's why you were modded.
