You found 3 women out of the literal millions who travel to third-world countries yearly. No shit murders happen, of men, of women, at home and abroad. Men have the privilege of being generally safer when alone anywhere, but especially out of their element. Painting "third-world" (a stupid term in general) countries as evil death traps where women "tend to wind up dead" is just bafflingly ignorant.

Countries that anyone would consider "third world" are far less safe for travelers. Full stop. I don't care how much that hurts your gentle sensibilities. Pretending like there's no risk so you can feel good about yourself is the kind of blisteringly selfish attitude that legitimately gets other people killed.
