I am tiling my master bathroom. I have all of the tiles except the final row (on the floor) laid. The final tiles when laid down without mortar, slightly rubs one tile as the pocket door passes over. The other 2 tiles it barely clears the entire way.

I am using a 3/8 trowel, so I figure that averages out to 3/16" increase (1/2 of 3/8) once I have mortar. So 1/4" would give me 1/16" clearance over installed tile.

I figure I can rent a jamb saw, that will be about $25. I can use an oscillating multi-tool to slowly cut it away, I have that but it will take a bit and I'm not sure I can get it totally strait. I could slowly jam sand paper under the tall tile, sanding it down, install, repeat. I could remove the pocket door and cut it with a circular saw, but that would require removing the trim, which is in perfect condition and i would hate to have to redo.

Any other ideas?
