I had seen a review about how the between fight segments were satire of open world games. And honestly coming in with that mindset made them amusing, at least for a while.

The best parts about the games is the absurdity and how creative the boss fights were. If you care about the story, just pretend the second game doesn't exist. But if you want more zany and crazy bossfights (and better minigames), the second game definately delivers.

It would be strange to me if 2 addressed any story elements from 1 at all tbh. Ngl I enjoyed the variety of boss gimmicks and stages, but the game relied way too much on absurd amounts of invincibility for me to call the bosses fun or well designed from a game play perspective.

Also I do like the "You idiot, why would he be your father? I am your sister!"
