ShyOx 07/10/21 2:07:12 AM #1: | The last one purged so I figured another was due. I have purchased a Tau army!... which I then figured out even second hand at 100 or so $ was still only like 600-700 pts, so I have a ways to go. This does give me a leg to stand on though, and though I made the bulk purchase internationally and it's taking forever to get here, I did get 5 fire warriors from an American seller to start painting on. I bought a spray can of black primer, and I'm impressed with the quality. I have the starter kit which comes with 8 or so paints and some shade/layer paints as well. I did cabinet painting for a living for awhile so I have a basic feel for how paint works. That said I have found painting challenging... once I realized I was the only real judge though, I began to go hog wild and have discovered the joy. I'm going black, white and red for my army colors. It has a striking look and I can always strip them and do it again later if inclined, but I like that generally the Tau tend not to do this color scheme. My army will stick out. I now have a wet pallette which makes it more enjoyable as well, with a water cup by side you can relax and turn on a show while you paint without throwing oodles down the drain. My gf is a great visual artist so it makes her laugh to see me start picking up these skills and ask for advice; I'm a musician and visual stuff has never been my forte. I followed the channel of a guy that posted in the last one, so if people have pages to follow on the hobby hit me up and I'll tag them as well. I find an inner peace in painting the minis I will send into relentless bloody warfare :) --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
