Gerrymandering can create red districts artificially. For example, you create a district shaped like a triangle with a thin line that joins it across the other side with another shape that looks like a fucking star. That way you can concentrate all blue voters in 1 district. You follow me?

then you get a bunch of red reps and just a few or even 1 blue rep, population numbers be damned. Then they can pass restrictive and discriminatory voting laws, and when the federal election comes they can leave the one blue district stuck with a few voting machines and opening late the voting booths while red districts have a polling place every corner
