| PIayer_0 07/31/21 12:18:23 AM #28: | Id (Purpose) La Mer My imagined, ideal piece of VGM always tells some kind of musical story - a theme is established early on, developed throughout the song, and brought back at the end in its original form, maybe with some subtle changes added. It basically needs to follow the hero's journey in storytelling! La Mer executes this format really well, introducing the instruments and tonality first before establishing a proper theme 50 seconds in, and bringing it back for an amazing climactic ending! I love Time's Scar for a lot of the same reasons, though the instruments there are very much a step above.
