Topic	Why we have the Electoral Votes (for those who don't know):

What a popular vote would do is force the parties to change their policies based on what the people actually want, not what 5 states want. And if they split into 3 or 4 parties that would be fine but as it stands right now theres only 2 parties and if one of those parties was removed from play youd have a one party system, aka a dictatorship.
