If this farmer's production is expected to drop by 16%, we would expect prices to rise by the same amount to cover the costs, plus more to deal with the initial overhead costs of renovating part or all of the farm. The initial article suggests pork prices in California will rise up to 60% - more than enough to cover it. Again, this isn't difficult - the people wanted hogs to be treated more ethically and they're going to get it.
