after recovery, dogs who undergo amputation can still live a full life

if you're willing to work with them through the 9-12 months of rehabilitation necessary, and you grasp that they can never be your running buddy again, and you're constantly vigilant for pressure sores and fungal infections, and you're always by their side when they're on the move so that they don't fall and injure the area

this hits pretty close to home for me, my dog had to undergo amputation for bone cancer
