Topic | Folks rag on Oblivion since it isn't as creative or well-written as Morrowind... |
masterpug53 08/07/21 12:33:20 PM #9: | Doe posted... One thing I'll say is that this 2007 open world game has better textures on the world than Dark Souls II It's been almost ten years since I played Oblivion - I was obsessed with the the game and logged thousands of hours on it prior to Skyrim - and one of the reasons I'm looking forward to replaying Oblivion sometime soon is to see how the graphics hold up. Cyrodiil genuinely felt like a real, believable worldspace at the time, and Skyrim never quite had that same effect; no matter what graphical mods and tree replacers I pile onto Skyrim, the overworld too often feels like a bunch of mismatched shapes and textures thrown together randomly, instead of a cohesive, believable worldspace. So I'm curious to see how Oblivion holds up now that I've stepped down the texture mod rabbit hole and have been cursed with a critical eye for those types of details. --- Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read. https://imgur.com/eW67nT8 - Artwork by Wii_Shaker ...
