Way too easy to kidnap somebody and shove them in / lock them in while making it nearly impossible to escape. A HatchBack/LiftBack trunk would usually have a fabric top or hard cardboard top that is easy to puncture / escape along with fold down seats that give access to the back row. SUV's would usually have a similar cover. MiniVans wouldn't even have a cover. Trunks should be designed to be easy to escape from. Tbf all modern cars do have an inner latch to get out.
