The one thing he's not onboard with -- for the most part -- is a lot of SJW nonsense, which means he's not the fringes of that. And because he's sometimes anti-SJW (he seems to generally agree with the movement, but he has the "audacity" to criticize its stupidest tendencies, which makes him persona non grata among its zealots), his hardcore SJW critics have tried to argue that Bill Maher isn't a liberal. If Carlin was alive today, these same SJWs would try to call him a conservative (because he'd be even *more* against the ridiculous side of SJW nonsense, since he frequently criticized the tamer PC culture), and there'd be people on this board who would go along with it.
