Ask anyone with a long commute and they'll pretty much all tell you they want to live where they want to live, not to be tied down by being close to work. When I rented I used to make a point to live near work, but I wonder if that was good for my long-term happiness and financial stability. I always wanted to find my "perfect" job first, hoping it was in an ideal location, and then buy a house near it. Eventually I gave up on that cause I found myself in a good spot to buy and everything went remote with the pandemic. Uh I made that a bit too about myself, anyways the point here is that it's not always easy to get a job near where you live if you want to stake out a more permanent place.Personally, my ideal job would be one close to home. I hate commuting. Hate it. Longest Ive had to commute was like a 45-ish minute drive one way or so and even that was too much for me. I now only have to drive a little under 25 minutes one way and even then Id like something a little shorter. Of course, I wouldnt mind a longer commute IF the work day was shorter, but working eight or eight and a half hours and then driving almost two hours on top of that? F***. that. --- Bah weep grannah weep ni ni bon ... Copied to Clipboard! |
