| Topic | I have a new employee from Afghanistan and he shared how this is impacting him. |
| KILBOTz 09/09/21 5:09:27 PM #1: | I have an employee that started 9/1 that was born in Afghanistan and moved to the US in his 20s (mid 30s now) to get an MBA. Rest of his family is still in Afghanistan. He comes from an affluent family, his Grandfather went to Oxford and was a local leader. So all his family was educated and pro-west and they all were either in the Afghan government or working with / for the US. He has already had an uncle and 2 cousins beheaded since 8/15. Most of his family is known fugitives to the Taliban, all are in hiding or have been arrested and possibly executed. Apparently as late as end of July all of the US forces were telling the Afghans there was still going to be 3-6 months to withdraw. Closest conversation I can recall ever hearing anything like this was in high school when they would bring in holocaust survivors to tell their story.
