I'm sorry I haven't played LiS2 now because I can't offer any comment to the posts that mention it. I just heard from LiS fans that it was worse, and I already wasn't as interested because a key part of LiS for me was getting to know the same people and locations whereas LiS2 was about being on the run and always finding new people at new places. Didn't feel like there was much room to build anything.

I've heard good things about it but I'm a little confused about the pricing. Weren't LiS 1 and 2 about $30 for the season when they came out? Is this one that significantly bigger?

I'm not at the end yet and I haven't played twice to test branching paths so I can't definitively state how big the game is, but here's my view on it. It doesn't feel much bigger than LiS or BtS, but there's a lot of little things packed into what is there. One negative review I saw on Steam (which I only read a tiny bit into to avoid risking spoilers) whined about the game only being seven hours long. I'm at seven hours already just by the end of chapter three. The original LiS could probably be speedrun in an hour or two if you avoided everything except what moved the plot forward, but to me Life is Strange's greatness was in the little moments and side conversations. I'm going slow to soak in the atmosphere, and True Colors has a lot of atmosphere! Whether that atmosphere is enough to justify the full price, I guess that's an individual choice. I'm obviously a LiS superfan so I would've paid this price for the original and BtS both without feeling ripped off.
