Especially those two as they tended to stick among themselves more then others. In part from being Catholic. Conan O'Brien's ancestors have been here for a 150 years and yet he is still 100% Irish. My mother is 100% Irish as well and my father and I might be as there may or may not have been an adoption on his side of the family which led to the none Irish last name. Even if not I'm still somewhere around 90% or more. So no, most people didn't have ancestors that owned slaves. The Irish are more likely to have had ancestors that were slaves.
