I'm against violence as a solution to problems but I'd be lying if I said this wasn't satisfying.
Still I think she was in the wrong to attack him. The guy is a total moron but either engage him so he grows or ignore him so he goes away.
No one in history ever thought "Gee, I just got punched. That means I was wrong." he's just going to double down his ignorance now.
I'm assuming he had permission to protest or else it was public land? If not then call the cops on him. If so then just ignore him. IF he stands there for 4 hours and no one even looks at him, then he's just going to go home and never try this nonsense again
