Kids that age understand that there's a difference between the relationship between parents and the relationships between unattached adults. They don't need to understand the finer nuances of those relations to recognize that it's a thing, and that means there is benefit in giving them a chance to recognize that some couples aren't heterosexual. They may not fully understand the implications of that, but exposing them to it at least lays the groundwork for normalizing it as they figure it out. --- This is my signature.
