This kind of 'opposite-think' is part of the breakdown of political discussion in the USA as well.
There are so many contrarians claiming to be things they're not, that the media landscape is impossible to assess for the average person. A lot of people rightfully skewer CNN, MSNBC and Fox, but then they'll follow 'alternative left' sources like Glenn Greenwald, The Grayzone, Jimmy Dore, Convo Couch, Bad Faith Podcast, Krystal Ball or Kyle Kulinski. None of these individuals or media personalities recognize that CNN, MSNBC and Fox exist on a spectrum of believability/BS/sensationalism, lumping them in the same group and making such statements as "Rachel Maddow is basically Bill O'Rielly now!!!". To which I say, she has a lot more molesting to do. Most of these individuals enjoy being contrarian and 'agreeing' with Fox quite frequently. Basically, they (contrarian 'Leftists') serve as viewing material for right-wing individuals that like seeing the Left eating at itself and justifying their right-wing points of view. Those sources (in my eyes) lift all the worst elements of the mainstream, and put them on steroids, while claiming to hate the MSM. All of them claim to be 'far Left' but they are all literally Centerists at best, while claiming to hate Centerists.
I love that you start by criticizing baseless conspiracy theories before devolving into baseless conspiracy theories... and then you do this weird thing where I'm not sure if you're misspelling centrist or trying to make up a new word separate from centrist.
