It's creeping up, fuelled in no small part by students coming back and presumably with a larger surge incoming from a massive street party said students held last weekend. We had been doing extremely well (averaging 0-1 cases per day), but that inevitable fourth wave has arrived and we had 83 yesterday (7DA of 29). Fortunately, the government walked back the plan to eschew mask requirements on the 15th, which stuck me as being very silly because the proof-of-vaccine plan isn't being implemented until this coming Monday. We'll see what happens with that.

Fortunately, we are doing quite well for vaccines (over 80% of eligible people vaxxed, over 70% of the total population), and compliance with control measures has been pretty good because we've seen considerable success in the past (which does wonders for motivation). Hopefully, this won't be nearly as bad as the third wave (which can be entirely traced back to a single family coming from Ontario and failing to isolate), since that hit before most of us were eligible for vaccines.

damn real talk tho? yikes

Yeah, Alberta's in trouble. Thankfully, Kenney walked back his insanely idiotic plan of no longer requiring positive people to isolate and stopping pretty much all testing, but they're still in really, really bad shape.
