the first one is basically a perfect movie. The whole thing looks like a painting, which worked well with the effects of the time. Their Green Goblin changed the way we saw that character too, not to mention Spider-Mans influence on other early comic book films. I think it was supposed to be the new Superman or something :)

the second one is almost perfect, and gets bonus points for being a good sequel. Most sequels suck, eh? We were just talking about that earlier in the thread. The issue with 2 is that its silly & colorful & vapid & coy. You think you like that approach. Maybe you do. Its unfaithful. Its cheap. And it didnt work in 3. The problems with Spiderman begin with 2 and our lasting appreciation for it. IMO, Doc Ock is still dumb. Armor to Arm? Omg. Multiverse? Okayy. Well see what happens.

Remember. Spider-Man is supposed to make fun of guys like this? Ock is sort of a joke. Hes the worst. Did we forget? Anyway,

lol its not a bad movie. The look of the symbiote without host was (and is;) awesome. Sandman works just all around very well all things considered. Hes weird. You wanna laugh at him, but hes pathetic, and scary, and it looks great. The practical effects in those films rocks. They did the dance thing scene. Venom was awful. Evil Peter was embarrassing. Just no. Nothing excuses that. They lose a point for disrespect that opened up the door for more disrespect like Iron Man 2, Fantastic 4 2, and other sequels that tried to drop the demographic by 30 years like that... while somehow still trying to use the same material with the same actors and the same look under a new light. Harry Goblin is the worst. 2 out of 3 villains in the ultimate superhero movie were actually Power Rangers quality lol. Ugh. Jet Jaguar was one thing. Why did we make him a snowboarder? What? No, like seriously. Why?

yay! It didnt really work out. Lizard was not at his best. The last act was just so typical. Strong start. Falls flat. Too safe. Like Venom!

alright! Why wasnt this a 10/10? Whatever. It isnt an origin story & Spiderman beats the shit out of oldman Bruce Wayne. Lots of tech. Amazing movie.

ok how am I missing one point? Is it because Im MCU? Gyllenhaal Mysterio! Come on! Seriously these movies are fantastic. And in all honestly... they get 9/10 because theyre too short. They could be longer....

.... but thats what NWH seems to be aiming for. Spidermans Big Adventure. Lets keep our fingers crossed.


Venom is a 6/10 that feels like an 8. They lack gravity towards the end, choosing instead to play it like Iron Man when we needed Dark Knight.

Venom 2 is a 4 or maybe a 5 that feels like a 7 at best, or a 6 if you dont care about Carnage. They choose to play it by the book at the end, opting for Dark Knight vibes when we needed Halloween. Sad.
