I'm a pro choice lefty, and the lefts criticism of pro life conservatives always falls flat for me. None of the gotcha points they make are ever actually relevant.

There's one point and one point only that needs to be argued. Pro lifers honestly believe abortion is committing murder. Thats it. Thats the only point that should be argued. All this stuff about helping kids after their born isn't the argument. I wouldn't want a random person to be murdered, but that doesn't mean I want to take care of them either.

It's a scientific argument pro choicers should be making. You can go on about women's rights, their bodies all you want, but when one side believes the right you're fighting for is the right to murder, those arguments fall flat.

If it was all about the "murder", they would push contraceptives more. Yet they dont and can actually make it harder to access them. Sure it wouldn't eliminate the need for abortions, but it would reduce the need for them outside of rape cases.

And not giving a shit about the kids after they are born is just as bad as murder.
