It's no longer an essentially required way to deal with everything - or anything even, since even the enemies who like to get countered are easily kill-able with the beam. It's just a fun bonus to pull off that nets you extra energy/missiles when you do so, so maybe you'll be more conscious to use it when you're low. map system is totally messing with my OCD tho lmao --- I request affiliated many pipes.
