I can understand advising someone who is starved for human companionship to lower their standards in what they may be looking for in a partner. I cannot understand people whose advice to such people is to simply pay for sex. Talk about missing the point.

Reading comprehension is important.

"It's hard to garner much sympathy for people who are frustrated about being virgins, yet consider themselves too good to pay for p****."

Notice that the bolded does NOT say "starved for human companionship", which is a lot broader in meaning.
