Abby was really good when she was covering games and always gave new games a fair shake. BT is absolutely wrong. She played more new games than Brad did most of the time. There were some gaps in her general gaming knowledge, though, especially with older stuff. Never having heard of Konami was a particularly egregious example. Something I'd always hear her say on the Beastcast was "What's [insert very common pop culture/gaming subject]". While there's nothing wrong with being curious, the way she would say things sometimes came off as clueless. I liked Abby, but I can understand why some people didn't.

A general lack of gaming knowledge is something I've been noticing a lot lately. The latest State of Play talkover was a good example. Like when you see the Tri-Ace logo followed by a space ship, it should be pretty obvious it's a new Star Ocean. Nobody recognized any of the games despite most of them being previously announced in prior events. I get that not everyone is Jeff Gerstmann, but I expect Giant Bomb to be a little more savvy.

Did you listen to a single Beastcast between 2019-2021? I don't know whether she just got bored of pretending to like video games or what, but literally every fucking week "Hey Abby, what have you been playing?" "Ohhh not really playing much now but I bought a really cool hot dog costume in Fortnite"
