Mainly because it would filter out garbage games that aren't fun to play, like BotW People who make those lists try to make things diverse or they'd be labelled as a fanboy for a particular series. Take Mario as an example, if you thought the series was very good you could conceivably have the following games in your top 20. Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 3 Super Mario World Super Mario 64 Super Mario Galaxy Super Mario Galaxy 2 Super Mario Odyssey Heck things like New Super Mario Bros. or Super Mario 3D World could be added.
