I like the feeling of progression that comes with constantly upgrading gear, like it's a Metroidvania or something. Even if it looks bad, I'm only wearing it for a relatively short period of time anyway. Ok but you will still be upgrading gear this way as you are going through dungeons. The gear we will talking about gives you the highest baseline starting stats, and if you really like the look of the job sets you can glam over them with the job armor. And then as you do dungeons you will upgrade the gear. And sure this doesn't matter for Bozja or trusts but when you start doing dungeons with other players there's no reason to use worse gear --- I definitely did not forget to put the 2020 GOTD Guru winner, azuarc in my sig! ...
