Assuming the Xbox achievements are the same as the Steam ones, looking through that list, there really aren't many on there that amount to anything more than naturally following the progression and tasks the game offers you, so they don't really accomplish that goal. The prophecy system serves roughly the same purpose anyway (and, in fact, "Fulfill the X prophecy" seems to make up a sizable portion of the Steam achievements), so not having an external system to validate something I'm perfectly capable of noticing that I've achieved is fine by me. --- This is my signature.
