I've decided to mostly give Reagan a pass on the Aids issue, mostly because almost every politician was squeemish when talking about it until the mid-80s. Federal response came in 1985... until then, only a few hundred people were dying from it every year. I'm not sure if Walter Mondale would of done much better on that front.
