Who said it was the sole problem? It definitely picked up a lot since columbine so it's clear it had a big impact on the frequency, unless you think it's just a coincidence. Bad parenting is also a huge problem because no one wants to discipline their kids anymore. Also our cultures dismissal of mental health (though that has been it's own problem since ever).

There is a lot that goes into this but I'm not sure why you would think the stardom that the columbine killers got and the fact that school shootings have gone up a lot since doesn't have a huge impact on it.

Please do share the problem with our mental health here. I just want to see your take on it because I've had...so so experiences with it that can make anyone go "Wtf" in a heartbeat. For example...when I was once suicidal, I obviously had to be taken to the hospital. They gave me an evaluation that same day, and sent me home with resources to some place else...yeah. And what really rubs that extra salt in the wound is not having any way to pay for it at all. Having mental illness means not being able to have my job. Having no job means no health insurance. And also with no income, etc. Needless to say...that hospital visit didn't do anything for me...and I'm still and will always be baffled by that experience.
