Last year, the academy that loves pop music refused to nominate The Weeknd's insanely popular and critically acclaimed album since he chose to perform at the Super Bowl. This year, they continue to treat Best New Artist as a "Released their most popular song" award. Japanese Breakfast and Glass Animals have been around for a long while.
