Tame Impala sounds amazing while not tripping. It sounded even more amazing somehow while tripping. I think I greatly appreciated the musical enhancements and distortions moreso than the visual ones. The vocals reverberated and harmonized so naturally it was like listening to a different version of each song.
You might know this already but LSD and exposure to Eastern music is what drove the Beatles to make psychedelic music (eastern music scales, heavy reverb/delay, and analog synths are like candy when tripping), and tame impala's following in their footsteps. Next time you get a tripping opportunity I suggest you try their album revolver. You will probably feel like a time traveler

This is good advice. I had to remind myself numerous times not to let myself go during the trip. At times I could feel my lips and teeth melting into each other. If I had let that feeling continue I feel like I would have just disintegrated into nothingness. Other times I felt like I had no sense of time even though I knew it had only been two hours since I drank the tea. I forced myself to just focus on something else like my spouse or just the fact that I'm in my house.
It makes sense you're avoiding a bad experience, and it's probably for the best you familiarize yourself with this realm before you let yourself fully surrender to the experience. Time dilation/distortion is typical and it's human nature to not want to dissolve or melt so it might take some experience before you're able to comfortably relinquish control
