LeonhartFour 12/06/21 12:15:54 AM #122: | I set my ATM card's number to "0001" because I'm number one! Trials & Tribulations Phoenix and Edgeworth's Dynamic The Hair Flip Maya Fey Godot - What a wild character this guy is. He shouldn't be as likable or compelling as he is because he's not a great prosecutor and his "plan" in 3-5 is insane. Yet Godot is full of charm with his coffee addiction, his illogical metaphors, and his constant belittling of Phoenix, not to mention those goggles. I appreciate how T&T slowly rolls out his story, and having him be Mia's assistant in 3-4 was a clever move because it explains so much of why he is the way he is in a way probably nothing else could have. Dual Destinies Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney "My client...Matt Engarde is..." - It's one of the great choices in the series, not because it's significant to the story, but because it's intensely personal, both for Phoenix and the player. Your first time through, you can't know what your choice will result in. It's also a really cool understated moment that the Court Record button disappears when Phoenix says, "I can't rely on the evidence to save me," and the game also won't allow you to save. Protagonist Miles Edgeworth The Golden Court (L-3) Simon Blackquill Presenting Your Attorney's Badge to Everyone You Meet Susato Mikotoba Spirit of Justice - Dual Destinies had to play it a bit safe in order to reestablish Ace Attorney as a viable series, but once that was accomplished, they were really able to try something new here. Putting Phoenix in Khura'in pushed the character forward in a way that hadn't happened in a while, but then for the game to hand the reins over to Apollo for the finale after Phoenix laid the groundwork was a bold move. I respect the heck out of the writers for doing it. Cross-examining Animals Ladders vs. Stepladders Damon Gant Dhurke Sahdmadhi Psycho-Locks The Herlock Sholmes "Logic and Reasoning Spectacular" Turnabout Reclaimed (5-6) Justice for All Rayfa Padma Khura'in - The smartest thing Spirit of Justice did was partner Rayfa with Phoenix for 6-3. If you only ever encountered Rayfa in her courtroom capacity, I feel like she'd be intolerable because I couldn't stand her just based on 6-1. Watching Phoenix slowly win her over was great. It's also probably the best thing they've done with Phoenix as a character since the original trilogy. The Mood Matrix The Adventure of the Runaway Room (G1-3) Athena Cykes - I appreciate the series introducing a character like Athena because she brings something new to the table with her psychology and the Mood Matrix. I like that they give her a more fiery personality to differentiate her from the other lawyers. However, introducing her also put the series in a tough spot because it's hard to balance tritagonists. Athena got the short end of the stick in Spirit of Justice, unfortunately, but we'll see what they do with her going forward. Also, Courtroom Revolutionnaire is the best theme the series has produced since Dual Destinies. Furio Tigre G2-4's Dance of Deduction Gregory Edgeworth Enoch Drebber The Adventure of the Unspeakable Story (G1-5) - This case takes forever to get going. I feel like it might be the longest delay between the start of the case and the committing of the crime. That being said, once we finally get to the trial itself, it gets pretty good. Punished Apollo The Forgotten Turnabout (E2-4) Ryutaro Naruhodo Zak Gramarye is a Jerk Ema Skye Khura'in - If you thought Japanifornia's standards for guilt and innocence were unreasonable, hoo boy. A country where being a defense attorney makes you complicit in the crime is just crazy enough to work. It makes you wonder how they follow that up in Ace Attorney 7. Do they try to go even crazier or just dial it back to normal? Maybe one day we'll find out! Kay Faraday Spirit Channeling Polly Investigation ~ Core 2001 I Can't Defeat Tree Man Herlock Sholmes Dancing Animations Daley Vigil/Gossip Eve Darklaw - She's probably my favorite original character from Layton/Ace Attorney. One of my favorite wrinkles is that she brought Layton to Labyrinthia to foil the Storyteller's plans but Phoenix getting there was a total accident. She's also legitimately hilarious in the bonus episodes, which is a nice contrast to how she's serious to a fault in the main game. Robin Newman Believe me, any comic relief I may provide is entirely unintentional. Ini & Mimi Miney Sebastian Debeste Presenting Profiles Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Phoenix Wright 3-1 Phoenix's Shirt and What It Really Stands For THE MURDER WEAPON WAS UDON DOUGH Olive Green Edgeworth's Cravat Dahlia's Constipation The Fact That Phoenix Once Tipped a Cow Peace, Love, and Understanding Klavier Gavin Ga'ran Sigatar Khura'in Juror No. 4 Japanifornia The Great Ace Attorney Moe's Fresh Prince Reference The Adventure of the Clouded Kokoro (G1-4) Multiple Witnesses Mechanic Case 1s That Tease Dynamics in the Final Case The Adventure of the Great Departure (G1-1) Soseki Natsume Save Scumming I'm not sure I like you wagging your finger at me as though I were some hoser! Ace Attorney Stage Plays - I think it's really cool that these exist. I've wanted to watch one at some point, but I've never gotten around to it. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney No Game No Life Cornered Remix Raiten Menimemo Phoenix Eating the Bottle of Poison - Boy, 3-1 Phoenix is kind of a doofus, isn't he? It's easy to see how he and Larry stayed best friends because they're a lot alike. The difference is that Phoenix had motivation to help him grow up and Larry never did. Shouting "Objection!" into the system's mic Logic Chess Phoenix/Edgeworth Ship Venus Great Ace Attorney Being Stingy with the Pursuit Theme Ace Attorney's Standards for Guilt and Innocence 2-3's Murder Physics Northward: Turnabout Express (Ace Attorney Anime Season 2) The Adventure of the Unbreakable Speckled Band (G1-2) You look like I did after I mistakenly took a swig of Worcestershire sauce. Ema Skye's Drawing - I am a terrible artist, so far be it from me to judge the quality of this drawing because it's certainly better than I could do. That being said, trying to make that friggin' jar look like the Blue Badger still haunts my nightmares to this day, so thanks for that, Ema. Phoenix Drive The Amazing Mr. Hat Mike Meekins --- ...
