I can almost promise you the boss or manager will use the "life isn't fair" justification to have you "on-call" at a burger flipping job and if you refuse, they'll go "life isn't fair, come on in or you're fucking fired" These are the people who cream their adult diapers over the thought of lifting labor laws so they can abuse their employees without the long arm of the law hanging over their head saying they can't do that.
