Disagree. That might work in some instances but the current structure would mostly only feed itself. Needs to be complete systemic change for a positive outcome to come to fruition.

You can villainize landlords, including me, if you want. Sure there are lots of slumlords out there. Sure there are predatory and exploitative landowners. But not all of them are scumbags, and landlords are not the problem wholly themselves.

I'm sympathetic. I'd love to see more people own their own home. As I said, I'm not opposed to selling my property but I guarantee if I did so right now, another landowner would turn right around and rent the property out, and the problem would perpetuate. And the new owners may not be as fair or sympathetic as I am, either.
