Soon as I turned 18 and got a job I was paying rent to my parents til I moved out

Then when I moved out, they gave it all back to me as a moving out of home gift. Taught me the value of budgeting and setting aside enough for rent each week. Some weeks I would have literally $20 leftover after paying them rent if it was a week I had to fill up my car, pay car insurance, phone bill etc.
