They aren't the best movies ever or anything, but they're a major part of nerd culture now being accepted as pop culture. And they did so in under a decade too, it's astounding. I'm only 31 but I remember people getting clowned on in high school for knowing any details about any hero other then Batman, Superman and Spiderman. And even then they had to keep that shit surface level like secret identity and jobs and stuff like that.
