It's also sorta a New England thing. Didn't follow her recipe as I don't have it (can get it from one of my uncles though) just followed a recipe online. Martha Stewart one lol but I subbed out the evaporated milk for half-and-half. Might go straight heavy cream next time Came out a little grainy. Not as smooth as I would've liked. I don't have a candy thermometer. Tried doing the ball test but wasn't getting the result I wanted, and started getting nervous I was overcooking it at 25+ minutes, so I took it off the heat and finished up. Tastes good, though No test batch. This is the batch for Christmas this year. My kids will eat anything with sugar so it really doesn't matter I suppose.
