Phoenix Wright Miles Edgeworth Trials & Tribulations Phoenix and Edgeworth's Dynamic The Hair Flip Maya Fey Godot Turnabout Goodbyes (1-4) - I figured this would be appropriate to discuss on Christmas Eve! There will never be an epic case with this sort of pacing again. Sometimes I wonder what the series would be like if this case never happened simply because Edgeworth's entire character arc depends on it. I honestly didn't like him until this case, and then it made me like him once I understood why he is the way he is. You have three trial days with three miracle saves, between Maya, Larry, and then Phoenix himself. Watching von Karma finally sweat after busting out the metal detector is one of the most satisfying moments in the series. I feel like most people prefer trial segments because that's where all the dramatic action and the best music happens, but if trials are the dessert, investigations are the meat and potatoes. I'm trying to think of which case has the best investigations, and it might be 2-4. In terms of non-epic cases, I might actually say 5-2. Maybe 6-3. Not for the fanservice of Mia in a waitress uniform (unlike Kudo, this is not a fetish of mine), but because I think the concept of Maya channeling for completely mundane reasons is great. I honestly wish the series had done more stuff like this. Edgeworth's Secret Steel Samurai Fanboyism The Adventure of the Unspeakable Story (G1-5) Punished Apollo SHUT UP! Mael Stronghart Larry's Painting in 3-5 The Forgotten Turnabout (E2-4) Ryutaro Naruhodo Zak Gramarye is a Jerk The Memoirs of the Clouded Kokoro (G2-2) Ema Skye Khura'in Kay Faraday Spirit Channeling Polly The Miracle Never Happen Investigation ~ Core 2001 Kazuma Asogi I Can't Defeat Tree Man Sister Bikini Gina Lestrade Redd White of Bluecorp Herlock Sholmes Dancing Animations Revisualization - As a concept, I love it, and the presentation is top notch. It helps you piece together information in a linear manner to ascertain the truth. I feel like 5-2's sticks out in my mind, not just because it was the first, but because of the Amazing Nine-Tails revelation. 6-4's also stands out just for the sheer absurdity of it. The only downside to it is that its appearance makes it super obvious the case is basically over, so it removes a bit of drama. Eve Darklaw Albert Harebrayne Robin Newman The Mixing Board The Mikotoba Twist Believe me, any comic relief I may provide is entirely unintentional. He's got a sincere desire to improve the Japanese legal system, ~~and he legitimately feels bad about letting Kazuma die (supposedly)~~. He also has one of my favorite animations in the game where he pumps his fist with a determined smile on his face. I can't explain why, but I really like it. Satorha!
