If I was Tom Holland Spider-man, having lived through it I would sooner believe that I had a schizophrenic break from reality and seek help immediately. That's not a joke, I'm 100% serious, that's how unbelievable the story was to me. Actually that's a pretty good way to explain the story of the MCU, a basket of schizophrenia.

If anyone in a comic book universe actually had realistic psychological reactions, they probably would have entered catatonic denial fugue state about 20 minutes after gaining super powers in the first place. And if not then, probably after a demigod from space used ancient magic to snap away 50% of all life in the universe for 5 years.

Nearly all soft sci-fi and fantasy is predicated on the assumption that people in-universe are more likely to accept weird things as a matter of course rather than suffer a complete and total breakdown the moment their original world-view is shattered. Because otherwise most movies would be kind of boring.
