The way I see it, the concept of LVM/HVM is just a matter of sexual selection brought to the forefront by online dating. Men and women adopt very different strategies to try to get a relationship. Men will swipe right on anything to try to get their foot in the door, while women are faced with the problem that they have hundreds of options. All of whom are trying to put their best foot forward and not reveal anything negative about themselves. As a time investment, it's simply inefficient for a woman to try to get to know hundreds of dudes to find what she's looking for. So they are incentivized to be more discerning and to set qualifications to 'weed out' the ones they feel they won't be happy with. Where incels and the women of FDS find common ground is that their strategies failed for whatever reason. They didn't find what they were looking for, and they react by blaming the other sex.
