At my wife's OBGYN, when she was pregnant, we had to meet the whole "team" which was the doctor, an NP, the financial person who ran insurance, and then an "educator" whose job was to hand out pamphlets with basic info about pregnancy. She didn't provide us any info we couldn't have gotten from the pamphlets, and anything we couldn't have gotten from the pamphlets was a question for the doctor or NP. So her job is pointless and I still resent our stupidly high medical bill (even after insurance) went to pay that useless salary.

But that's how hospitals operate when they need to make a profit.
