If all you are doing is fasting/dieting then the weight loss is also just temporary in that case. You have to either burn calories or change your eating to lose weight, and all you would accomplish by making it only a temporary thing without any other changes would be to ping pong your weight around.
I'm aware. If you look back, I am advocating exercise and a little additional calories
