DeviantART was a good attempt, but artists couldnt make money from it unless they sold uncensored porn on Patreon. Besides, Patreon only works for truly successful artists. NFTs are like fine art being sold at a gallery. Except the sky is the limit in terms of medium and format. Because they are just JPEGs, without an ownership signature it was merely impossible to monetise work like musicians and video producers could. The Blockchain fixes this conundrum

Do you expect this to stay lucrative long term? I think NFTs and blockchain tech in general is cool and has a lot of potential. I just don't see it's current usage like you described sticking around. I mean, NFTs are basically just a very secure digital ledger. Great for proof of ownership wrt like copyright enforcement, but it seems like a lot of folks buy digital art NFTs under the assumption that they're getting a unique product that nobody else can have (a la traditional art), which the internet disproved like 20 years ago.
